Job Description
Working under this contract will primarily involve the following duties:
Weed Control
Workers will be responsible for identifying and removing weeds using long-handled hoes. This task is essential to ensure the health and growth of the crops.
Field Preparation
Preparing the fields for planting is a crucial step in the farming process. Workers will be involved in plowing and tilling the land to create the ideal conditions for crop growth.
Harvesting Romaine Lettuce and Iceberg Lettuce
One of the main responsibilities of the job is to harvest romaine and iceberg lettuce. This includes cutting, packing, and loading the fresh produce.
Packing Line Workers
These workers will be responsible for sorting and packaging the harvested produce on the conveyor belt. However, they will not be packing them into retail sale boxes.
Machine/Equipment Operator
Operators will handle various machinery, including tractors, as directed by supervising staff. They will also operate forklifts to load packed product pallets onto refrigerated trucks.
Thinning
Thinning involves walking the fields and removing excess plants or weeds to maintain proper crop spacing. Workers will use long-handled hoes for this task.
Iceberg Lettuce Trim
For iceberg lettuce, workers will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and packing the lettuce in the field. This process requires precision and attention to detail.
Romaine Hearts Trim
Similar to iceberg lettuce, this job involves cutting, trimming, and packing romaine hearts in the field.
Irrigation, Setup, and Removal of Sprinklers
Farm workers will be responsible for managing irrigation systems, setting up and removing sprinklers, operating wheel lines, and driving tractors.
Mobile Sprayer Transport
Workers may need to transport and set up mobile sprayers in the field as needed.
Lettuce Packing
This task involves selecting the right lettuce head for placement in boxes in the field.
Machine Harvest Operator
Employees should follow safety rules and be capable of operating machinery efficiently while adhering to the supervisor’s guidance.
Physical Requirements
To excel in this job, workers must be able to work outdoors for at least 7 hours daily, regardless of weather conditions. The work requires physical strength and endurance to perform harvesting activities quickly and skillfully using hands. Bending and stooping are required throughout the day. All necessary equipment will be provided to complete these harvesting-related tasks.
Communication and Compliance
Workers must be willing to listen and understand instructions from supervisors and company management. They should be prepared to perform all duties according to the employer’s rules and regulations during the contract period.

Special Requirements
This position requires a minimum of one month of agricultural work experience in diverse crops and hands-on tasks, including fieldwork. One month of experience in harvesting vegetable crops is also required to prevent crop damage and personal injury.
